Andrew M. Silver
Andrew handles matters related to all aspects of corporate law, with a primary focus on representing private equity firms and privately held entrepreneurial businesses. Owners, investors, and C-suite executives rely on Andrew's extensive experience working on complex transactions as well as acting as outside general counsel for businesses of all sizes. His practice spans many industries, including private equity, distribution and manufacturing, investment banking and financial services, waste management, pharmaceuticals, landscaping, dental services, pets wellness, sports, restaurant, spirit and food services, technology and software services, and insurance services.
At Much, Andrew serves as a co-chair of the Associates Committee. In this leadership role, he works strategically with the firm’s Management Committee and the firm's associates, facilitating communication and decision-making between the groups.
On the counseling side of his practice, Andrew provides clients with strategic advice about business operations, corporate governance, joint ventures, debt financing, and executive compensation packages.

In his transactional work, Andrew guides clients through sophisticated mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, recapitalizations, generational transfers, partnership agreements, management buyouts, commercial lending transactions, equity and debt financings, and private placements. He provides comprehensive counsel on transaction structuring, tax planning, diligence, and the preparation of transaction documents. Andrew works with private equity funds to acquire portfolio companies, complete add-on acquisitions, handle day-to-day legal work for portfolio companies, and eventually sell those companies. During law school, Andrew served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Leida J. Gonzalez-Santiago of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Andrew serves on the junior board of Keshet, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that provides services for children and adults with disabilities.
Andrew is also actively involved in the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. He is on the Board of Directors for the organization's Young Leadership Division and serves as chair of the Young Lawyers Group and vice chair of the Lawyers Network.
