A versatile litigator and compliance advisor, Stacy defends clients against high-stakes commercial lawsuits and helps them build and enhance their compliance programs.
Stacy has extensive experience defending lawsuits involving the defense of putative class actions, vendor disputes, Florida UCC claims, business torts and contract claims, trade secrets litigation, claims for breach of fiduciary duty, and consumer protection claims. She regularly defends clients against individual and putative class action claims raised pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA), Florida Security of Communications Act (FSCA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
With an emphasis on the financial services industry, including creditors, purchasers, servicers, and vendors of all varieties, Stacy helps clients navigate the ever-evolving and complex regulatory landscape. That means building or modernizing outdated policies, procedures, and compliance management systems, assisting with responses to regulatory inquiries and licensing examinations, advising on day-to-day operations, decisions, and initiative with an eye to industry compliance, preparing and negotiating client and vendor contracts, assisting clients with audits, and defending against allegations of non-compliance.
Stacy also advises clients across all industries with respect to communications compliance. She prepares compliant disclosures, consent and revocation language and flows for calls, texts, emails, and online chats, and she defends against related statutory claims.
Stacy took a non-traditional path to the law, focusing her undergraduate education at Marshall University on the integration of science and technology, with an emphasis on biotechnology. Prior to joining Much, she worked at an AmLaw 100 firm in South Florida for over a decade.
