Ryan represents businesses and individuals in state, federal, and international litigation. He handles all manner of contractual disputes, whether related to business and partnership issues, real estate, or intellectual property. He frequently advises clients with franchise-based businesses, whether franchisee or franchisor. He also has experience with class action products and director liability issues and broker-dealer and securities arbitrations. Ryan retains a strong familiarity with corporate and transactional issues from his earliest days in practice.

A growing proportion of Ryan's work is in the California appellate law arena. He has authored numerous briefs relating to complex appellate legal issues and successfully argued before the Second and Fourth Appellate Districts.

Prior to joining Much, Ryan managed a business litigation firm with cofounder Isaac Zfaty. Their firm, Zfaty Burns, consolidated with Much in July 2020.
