Ian is a real estate attorney who counsels clients on commercial transactions. He represents the full range of real estate players, including buyers, sellers, investors, owners, landlords, tenants, lending institutions, and real estate investment trusts (REITs). Clients call on Ian to advise on acquisitions, dispositions, and debt and equity financings, as well as development, construction, and leasing matters.
Ian drafts and negotiates purchase agreements as well as equity purchase, option, commercial lease, and license agreements. He strategically guides clients throughout the project life cycle, from document drafts and negotiations through diligence, title and survey review, entity and equity structuring, financing, and deal close.
Ian has substantial experience on the lending side of commercial real estate transactions. He advises banks, financial institutions, and private lenders on loan structuring, negotiation, and documentation. Ian collaborates with his clients to manage risk, address business objectives, and efficiently move deals from term sheets through close.
