Sean Wagner Recognized Among “40 Under Forty” Illinois Attorneys to Watch

Much is proud to announce that Sean Wagner, principal in the firm’s Construction group, has been named to Law Bulletin Media’s “40 Under Forty” list of notable Illinois attorneys for 2025.

Now in its 26th year, the annual 40 Under Forty list honors attorneys for their legal accomplishments and service to their communities. Wagner was selected from a pool of more than 1,100 talented young attorneys in Illinois who were nominated by their clients and peers.

A member of Much’s Chambers-ranked Construction practice, Wagner focuses on all facets of construction litigation and transactions, helping engineers, architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other commercial entities navigate complex construction and design projects. A strong advocate for his clients, he has years of experience leading parties through challenging situations. His practice includes breach of contract, delay and disruption claims, design and construction-defect claims, bond claims, and mechanics lien disputes, among others. Wagner has also litigated dozens of commercial matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.

Nominators described Wagner as a fierce and trustworthy advocate who always brings preparation and poise to the table. “Not only is Sean a fighter in the courtroom for his clients, but he is also a counselor to his clients in every sense of that word,” one nominator said. “This is why Sean’s clients come back to him time and time again.” Another nominator said, “Whether he is negotiating a time-sensitive deal, aggressively litigating a novel issue or managing the defense of a large-scale complex lawsuit, Sean approaches all matters with the same poise, confidence, and legal acumen.”
