Jason Rosenthal, chair of Much’s Commercial Litigation group, was quoted in a Law360 article on the biggest Illinois cases to watch in 2024. He discussed a case involving insurance coverage for Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) claims, in which the Illinois appellate court recently held that the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals misapplied Illinois insurance law.
Rosenthal said that justices have largely favored plaintiffs in biometric privacy litigation and “insurance coverage is the best if not the only way out for some defendants.”
