
Overview
Michael counsels community, regional and national banks in a variety of real estate financing transactions, including mortgage, construction syndicated and asset-based lending; loan workouts; and deed in lieu of foreclosure transactions. Michael serves on the firm's legal opinion committee.
Michael also represents clients in a broad range of commercial real estate and real estate finance transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions; commercial, office and industrial leasing on behalf of landlords and tenants; condominium project development, including registrations under the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act; reciprocal easement agreements and declarations of covenants, conditions and restrictions for multi-owner developments, including vertically subdivided buildings; and financing and refinancing on behalf of property owners.
While in law school, Michael served as Associate Note and Comment Editor for the Northwestern University Law Review. He has authored articles and lectured on various real estate law topics, including title and survey review and analysis, commercial loan transactions, and the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act.
