New Attorneys Expand Firm’s Full-Service Capabilities in Key Practice Areas
Much Shelist recently announced the addition of David E. Schmidt as a Principal in the Business & Finance practice group and Shawna M. Doran as an Associate in the Intellectual Property & Technology practice group.
David Schmidt counsels professional investors and business entities on a variety of matters, including venture financing, traditional private equity and other alternative investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, asset protection, intellectual property licensing and business partnerships. His experience also includes negotiating, structuring and consummating high volumes of separate investments into portfolio companies of the world’s leading venture capital firms. David holds a B.S.J. with honors from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and a J.D. (cum laude) from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Shawna Doran focuses on intellectual property and technology law and represents clients in transactional matters, particularly with regard to onshore, nearshore and offshore sourcing, as well as issues related to IT, business process sourcing and supply chain management services. Shawna regularly drafts and negotiates master services agreements and all applicable supplements, as well as agreements covering software licensing, development implementation and maintenance, cloud computing, equipment purchase, and hosted services. Shawna holds a B.A. with honors from Indiana University and a J.D. from University of Chicago Law School.
