Much Successfully Completes Mansfield Rule 3.0 Certification and Commits to New Midsize Firm Program

Much is proud to announce that the firm has achieved Mansfield Certified status after completing the yearlong Mansfield 3.0 certification program. We stand alongside leading law firms across the country that are dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in hiring and leadership.

The Mansfield Rule measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities and senior lateral positions. Over the past year, Much successfully demonstrated the firm's commitment to diversity in these important decisions.

As part of that ongoing commitment, Much has signed on to participate in Diversity Lab's inaugural Mansfield Rule for Midsize Law Firms initiative. The new program – designed for firms with under 100 lawyers – has requirements tailored for smaller lawyer populations, fewer office locations and leaner firm leadership and governance structures. The certification period will be 18 months, running from September 15, 2020 to March 15, 2022.

"Our continued participation in Mansfield Rule initiatives is a crucial aspect of Much's strategic plan to focus on increasing diversity in all areas of the firm, including in leadership," said Co-Chairman Mitchell Roth. "By embracing diversity at a high level, we greatly enhance our ability to represent different perspectives within our firm and in our communities, while better serving our clients' changing needs."
