Much Shelist recently trademarked the logo for Invest in Us, a new early-education initiative supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF), a Much Shelist client. Over the past year, President Obama has challenged elected officials, business leaders, philanthropists, and the public to contribute to an initiative that aims to expand access to high-quality early education to every child in America. In response to the President’s call for action, Invest in Us was launched Dec. 10 during The White House Summit on Early Childhood Education. Much Shelist Principal Adam K. Sacharoff, Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice group, assisted the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in the trademarking process.

Created by the First Five Years Fund, Invest in Us is a bipartisan non-profit organization that challenges Americans to build a better nation by investing in high-quality early-education programs for children from birth through age five. In addition to $750 million in federal grants, the organization has raised more than $330 million in corporate and philanthropic support to date. Other major donors include The Walt Disney Company, the LEGO Foundation, J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Family Foundation, The Kresge Foundation and Susan A. Buffett and Partners.

Founded in 1930 by breakfast cereal pioneer Will Keith Kellogg, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation works with communities to create conditions for vulnerable children to achieve success and realize their full potential in school, work and life.  One of the largest philanthropic organizations in the United States, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation is based in Battle Creek, Michigan.  The foundation receives its income primarily from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Trust.
