Much Shelist is pleased to announce that it has been recognized for the third consecutive year as one of The Chicago Tribune Top 100 Workplaces. The award is a listing of the best places to work in the Chicago area and is based solely on the results of more than 70,000 anonymous employee surveys. Much Shelist is one of only three law firms on the list.  The 2014 survey results included 200 comments about Much Shelist, in which employees described senior managers as “attentive” and the firm atmosphere as “collaborative.”

Findings showed that the firm once again exceeded law firm benchmark scores in a number of areas, including:

Belief that the firm is going in the right direction (29% above benchmark)

Confidence in leadership (23% above benchmark)

Efficiency (35% above benchmark)

Feeling genuinely appreciated (21% above benchmark)

Encouragement of new ideas (25% above benchmark)

When asked how Much Shelist encourages new ideas, one employee stated, “Relative to other firms, there is very little red tape at Much Shelist. Anyone can submit ideas directly to management.” Describing why they love their job, another employee said, “My opinions matter, and I feel like I’m a valued member of the firm. There’s a real family atmosphere at Much Shelist, and I consider it a home.”  An attorney remarked, “I have been a partner here for over 20 years. I have worked for other companies and find the people here to be top notch. I enjoy getting off the elevator in the morning and engaging with other lawyers and staff on a myriad of legal and administrative matters.”

The Top Workplaces survey, conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a research firm on organizational health and employee engagement, questioned Much Shelist attorneys and staff on a variety of qualities that help define organizations, such as job satisfaction, opportunities for growth, open exchange of information, work environment, management style, benefits and resources. In describing the winners, the Chicago Tribune states, “The most successful companies are the ones that employees believe in.”
