The Real Estate practice group at Chicago-based law firm Much Shelist has been recognized by Midwest Real Estate News magazine in its 2014 “Best of the Best” list of Top Law Firms. The annual list features 40 law firms that have completed the largest amount of real estate transactions in the previous calendar year in a 13-state region. 

Much Shelist completed 209 real estate deals in 2013 in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin. Transaction areas included commercial, industrial, retail, condominium, land, office, multifamily, healthcare and student housing.  

In the past year, Much Shelist has leased more than one million square feet of space throughout the country, including 325,000 square feet in the iconic Willis Tower. The firm has also handled major leasing transactions for the Chicago Board of Education, Mariano’s grocery chain, The Maxwell project in the South Loop, Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and ORIX Corporation within the last 12 months.  

With 24 attorneys, Much Shelist has one of the largest groups focused on real estate among midsize Chicago-based law firms. The group represents both landlords and tenants in matters of all sizes and types, and in all areas of real estate, including retail, office, industrial and multi-family residential developments.
