Much Provides Humanitarian Support for Ukraine

Much was founded on a culture of service that includes a firmwide focus on social responsibility and giving back to the community. In some cases, the community extends far beyond Chicago and Newport Beach.

As war continues to rage in Ukraine, the firm and its employees are committed to supporting relief efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the millions of refugees who have fled.

Much Co-Chairman David Brown, who is the incoming Vice Chair and immediate past National Campaign Chair of The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), traveled to the Ukraine border and helped displaced people find food, shelter, and transportation. He is leading the relief fund allocation process for JFNA, which has raised and allocated tens of millions of dollars to provide aid, shelter, and a way to safety for refugees.

"Going to the Ukrainian border and seeing the devastation of the war firsthand is an experience I will never forget. It is critically important that we do not become desensitized and that we remember the human lives at stake in this crisis," said David. "We can all do our part to help. For all of the inhumanity we see on TV every day, it is counterweighted by the incredible acts of kindness and selflessness we see at the individual human level."

Additionally, Much matched up to $10,000 in employee contributions. Attorneys and professional staff donated to The Jewish United Fund and United Way's United for Ukraine Fund. Many employees are helping with other relief efforts and providing support, like translation and integration services for organizations like the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, RefugeeOne, The ARK, and Jewish Child & Family Services.

Steve Blonder, chair of the firm's social responsibility initiative Much Community, said, "Our firm has a long history of stepping up to support people in times of need. Our hearts go out to the Ukrainian people, and we hope the fighting soon ends. As long as there is a need, we will do our part to help and make a difference."
