Much Hosts 14th Annual Diversity Day Program

Much hosted its 14th annual Diversity Day celebration on January 23 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday. Firm attorneys and staff gathered for a dynamic presentation by Michelle Silverthorn, founder and CEO of Inclusion Nation, a diversity education and consulting firm.

This year's program focused on implicit bias, which plays a crucial role in how we perceive people who are different, and how those first impressions can dramatically affect our perception of another person. Michelle covered the business case for creating a diverse workplace, as well as strategic approaches to increasing inclusion, interrupting bias and ending harassment.

A graduate of Princeton University and the University of Michigan Law School, Michelle spent four years practicing at two large law firms in New York City and Chicago. She then transitioned into the legal education field where she spent six years training thousands of attorneys about implicit bias, diversity and inclusion, and millennials in the workplace.
