Much is pleased to announce that Steve Blonder, a principal and a member of the firm’s Management Committee, was named a 2021 Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. Steve, who also serves as chair of Much Community, was recognized for his decades-long work handling disability rights matters.
In The National Law Journal, Steve says, “Since day one of my career, it has been important to me that my work makes a real difference in people's lives, so I decided to get involved in impact litigation. ... It's about enabling people to deeply and authentically take part in aspects of everyday life. ... I'm using the law, pushing the law, and ultimately changing the law to bring about real change for people with disabilities.”
Steve has represented a deaf man who was barred from donating plasma and a 12-year-old deaf girl who sought an American Sign Language interpreter for her Girl Scout meetings. He also represented the nonprofit organization Access Living, along with three individuals, in a federal lawsuit against Uber alleging that the company violates the Americans with Disabilities Act by failing to provide adequate services to users of motorized wheelchairs.
The National Law Journal's Trailblazers list salutes lawyers, chosen from hundreds of nominations, who are agents of change in their respective practice areas. View the full Litigation Trailblazers list, including Steve’s profile, in the November/December edition of The National Law Journal.
