Much is proud to announce that Jeff Jung, principal in the firm's Corporate & Finance group, and Taryn Laseter, a legal secretary in the Estate Planning & Wealth Transfer group, have been honored with the 2020 David T. Brown Community Service Award. Jeff and Taryn were recognized for their personal dedication to social responsibility and community outreach.
Every year, one staff member and one attorney receive the award, which was created to honor firm Chairman David T. Brown and his commitment to community service. Much also makes a monetary donation to each recipient's charitable organization of choice.
Jeff Jung was recognized for his work with Bronzeville Cares, a collection of residents, business owners, organizers and others whose goal is to provide immediate COVID-19 relief to one of Chicago's most historic communities. Jeff was able to mobilize other attorneys at Much to help with Paycheck Protection Program loan applications and address other coronavirus-related needs.
"While it is certainly an honor to be recognized for the David T. Brown Community Service Award, the greater honor lies in being associated with the day-to-day commitment to positive social change that is embodied by the members of Much, Bronzeville Cares and the folks who work with the various service and community organizations that they support," Jeff said.
Taryn was recognized for her involvement with Village Minds, a grassroots organization that focuses on supplying food for local seniors on the south and west sides of Chicago. This past summer, Taryn spearheaded a joint operation that brought together Much employees and Village Minds volunteers to pack nearly 200 bags of fresh food.
"The donation that Much is making in my name will go a long way for Village Minds, and I have been consistently blown away by the support I have received from my colleagues," Taryn said. "I feel blessed to be able to help provide these important resources to seniors in our community."
