In sophisticated real estate transactions, borrowers and lenders need experienced attorneys who understand the complexities of the deal. And when it comes to most real estate deals, time is of the essence. Whether negotiating a complex securitized transaction or documenting a straightforward refinancing, we work closely with our clients to achieve their objectives in what are often very tight timeframes.

Much Shelist’s real estate attorneys regularly represent both borrowers and lenders in every imaginable commercial lending scenario. And as a firm that represents a significant number of lenders, we frequently refer borrowers to lending sources we think may be well suited to their needs. We have negotiated conventional mortgage loan transactions, including those involving acquisition, construction and permanent loans. We also have a great deal of experience with mezzanine and other lending; participating, syndicated and securitized loans; and secured and unsecured credit facilities. In recent years, we have negotiated a significant number of loan workouts and deed in lieu transactions as alternatives to loan foreclosures. In addition, we have handled numerous note purchase transactions and loan defeasances.
