Much is pleased to announce that Jim Wideikis and Sarah Quinn, both attorneys in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution group, obtained a victory for a firm client in the Chief Chancery Court of the Circuit Court of Cook County. The case involved seeking specific performance of a commercial lease and a purchase contract with a value in excess of $11 million. (Case No. 2019 CH 01781 cons. with Case No. 2019 1702056.)

"The memorandum opinion and order written and entered by Chief Judge Moshe Jacobius was one of the most thorough orders I have ever read in my 17 years of practice," Jim said. "Needless to say, we are happy with the result."

The case was placed on an expedited trial schedule – which required Jim and Sarah to complete complex discovery in an extremely tight timeframe – and was tried just over four months after the suit was filed. Much represented a Planet Fitness franchisee who runs a Planet Fitness gym in the Evergreen Plaza Mall in Evergreen Park, Illinois. The suit was filed against the client's landlord, which is owned and managed by Lormax Stern and the private equity firm Fortress Capital.
