Much Hires 15 Attorneys in 12-Month Period
Strategic Growth Complements Existing Services, Addresses Client Demand
Much Shelist, a full-service business law firm, has hired 15 attorneys over the past 12 months to continue to deliver the high-quality legal and business counsel clients demand. These experienced professionals bring additional depth in the following areas of law: Real Estate, Intellectual Property & Technology, Labor & Employment, Health Care, Construction, Wealth Transfer & Succession Planning, Business & Finance and Startups & Venture Capital. As of November 2018, Much has approximately 100 attorneys across its offices in Chicago and Irvine, Calif.
“It’s an exciting time for this firm as we grow steadily, yet strategically and thoughtfully. The 15 outstanding attorneys we’ve hired in the past 12 months understand the benefits of working at a midsize, independent law firm. As soon as they walk through the door, they have the support and resources they need to provide clients with the highest levels of service,” said Mitchell Roth, Managing Partner at Much.
While the headcounts at most of Chicago’s largest law firms dropped or stayed the same in the past year, in the summer of 2018 alone, Much welcomed 11 attorneys, including six from Bronson & Kahn, a 25-year-old Chicago firm that focused on real estate, corporate and hospitality law. Joining Much was a natural fit, as the two firms shared similar cultures, histories and clients. Now, the former Bronson & Kahn attorneys have access to Much’s expanded capabilities and professional development opportunities, which allows them to better serve their clients and retain the attorneys on their team.
“At Much, we are constantly evolving and working to create an environment where people love what they do,” said Jennifer Gallinson, Director of Attorney Recruitment & Professional Development. “Attorneys join Much because of our unique and collaborative culture. Everything we do—from weekly attorney lunches to community service activities and mentorship—is aimed at providing our people with the support and resources they need to advance in their careers, which ultimately benefits our clients.”
