Much Announces New Management Committee Members and Practice Leaders

Much is pleased to announce leadership changes at the Management Committee and practice group levels. As the firm charts its future in a post-pandemic world, we remain dedicated to growing and adapting to best serve the needs of our clients.

Sheryl Jaffee Halpern, chair of the firm's Labor & Employment group, and Courtney Mayster, chair of the firm's Real Estate group, were elected to the Management Committee.

"Sheryl and Courtney bring unmatched value to their clients. They strive to make our firm and our communities more vibrant, collaborative, and inclusive places to work and live," said Co-Chairman Mitchell Roth. "Sheryl helps protect our organization and keep our people thriving. Courtney is passionate about innovation and taking Much to the next level."

In her labor and employment practice, Sheryl provides guidance on virtually every decision employers face, devising practical solutions for complicated legal and business problems. She helps clients formulate strategies designed to minimize risk that also allow employees to feel welcome and heard, and within Much she leads professional development initiatives, including skill-building training and coordinated mentoring programs.

"The Much culture allows each individual to grow and develop, and I look forward to fostering our people-first philosophy as a member of our senior leadership team," said Sheryl. "I'm proud to be part of a firm that understands the power of diverse viewpoints when it comes to building a creative and collaborative workplace."

Courtney embodies Much's entrepreneurial spirit, leading efforts to implement new technologies and client service initiatives. As the firm's Marketing Partner, she champions projects that drive strategic growth and serves as a mentor to new professionals. Courtney is a trusted commercial real estate attorney who guides lenders, property owners, and investors through complex projects.

"Client relationships are at the heart of our firm," said Courtney. "As a member of the Management Committee, I'm excited to lead Much's efforts to enhance the client experience and ensure we continue bringing our clients smart, practical advice and innovative ideas."

Mitchell Roth, Steve Blonder, Greg Mann, Michael Shaw, and Glenn Taxman were re-elected to the Management Committee. After 14 years of service, Steve DeGraff has transitioned from the Management Committee. He will focus on his successful transactional practice, advising entrepreneurs, developers, and lenders on commercial real estate matters.

Six attorneys were named vice chairs of their respective practice groups. These next-gen leaders bring fresh perspectives on providing legal counsel that aligns with our clients' business needs.

  • Evan Brown in the Intellectual Property group
  • Luke Harriman in the Estate Planning & Wealth Transfer group
  • Harold Hilborn in the Health Care group
  • Camille Khodadad in the Labor & Employment group
  • Jason Rosenthal in the Commercial Litigation group

"At Much, we work hard to provide leadership development opportunities, and we encourage people to speak up and challenge the status quo," said Mitchell. "The world is changing and so are we. These new voices will partner with established leaders to carry out our firm's strategic goals and support our clients into the future."
