Marissa Downs Recognized Among "40 Under Forty" Illinois Attorneys to Watch
Marissa Downs, principal in the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution group, has been named to Law Bulletin Media's 2018 "40 Under Forty" list of notable Illinois attorneys.
Now in its 19th year, the 40 Under Forty list recognizes the most talented young attorneys practicing in Illinois based on "intelligence, passion, success in the office, a desire to help the community and, most importantly, a willingness to work hard at one of the country's most important professions." Marissa was selected from a pool of more than 1,500 nominations of lawyers throughout the state.
Marissa is an experienced litigator who represents manufacturers, financial institutions, corporate officers and directors, shareholders, and other clients in a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters. As part of her ongoing commitment to pro bono legal services, Marissa has defended a community services organization from a baseless discrimination claim, successfully petitioned the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service to grant legal status to an indigent client and served as second-chair trial counsel in a complex prisoner rights case.
