Kathy Shaw, principal in the firm's Labor & Employment group, has been recognized by the National Law Review as a 2021 Go-To Thought Leader for her articles about COBRA subsidy updates under the American Rescue Plan Act.

The National Law Review noted that “readers turned to Ms. Shaw’s contributions that provided information regarding COBRA subsidy timelines, eligibility, coverage changes, and more.”

Award recipients were selected from a pool of more than 14,000 legal news articles published in 2021 by the National Law Review. Only 87 authors – less than 1 percent of contributors – were honored in 2021.

Kathy capitalizes on more than 20 years of legal experience to provide counsel on employee benefits and executive compensation matters. She drafts employee benefit plans and advises on strategies for their implementation and administration. Kathy guides clients through responding to Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor audit requests and conducts internal compliance reviews of benefit programs. She also negotiates and drafts human resources provisions in corporate transactions and advises executives as they negotiate compensation as part of employment and separation agreements.
