AT WORK
An experienced transactional lawyer with a background in accounting, Michael B. Viner serves as Vice Chair of the firm's Real Estate group. Michael handles a variety of real estate transactions, including commercial acquisitions and dispositions; tax-deferred exchanges; commercial, office and industrial leasing on behalf of landlords and tenants; condominium developments; and financing and refinancing (conventional, conduit, bond and government-insured) on behalf of property owners.
Michael represents institutional lenders in connection with financings, loan modifications and workouts. He also represents closely held entities in connection with formation, organizational issues and related matters.
IN THE PROFESSION
Michael is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (Real Property Committee) and the Illinois State and American Bar Associations.
Michael has authored articles and lectured on a broad range of real estate law topics.
IN THE COMMUNITY
Michael is active in a number of civic and community organizations. He is on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago — Northern Region and Lawson House YMCA. He also participates in the Deerfield Youth Baseball Association and the American Youth Soccer Organization.
