Joel S. Polisky is a seasoned transactional lawyer with a varied practice. He represents closely held businesses, often as general counsel, in connection with planning and implementing business strategies and a wide range of transactions, among them the disposition and acquisition of assets and entity structuring. His clients are engaged in a broad array of businesses, including manufacturing, retail, health care, and business and personal services.

Joel provides estate planning services and handles estate administration for families, business owners, corporate executives and professionals. He also counsels clients regarding issues associated with the preservation and transfer of wealth.

He represents owners of all types of commercial, industrial and office real estate in a range of real estate matters, including property acquisitions and dispositions, leasing and financing.

IN THE PROFESSION

Joel has spoken on new tax legislation before the Chicago Bar Association's Tax Committee and has authored articles for the Illinois Tax Newsletter.

He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (Tax Committee) and the Illinois State Bar Association. In 2005, Joel was designated an Illinois Super Lawyer, an honor given to the top 5% of attorneys in the state. He has also been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network as a top Illinois lawyer in the areas of closely and privately held business law, as well as tax law for business and individuals (2007-2008).

IN THE COMMUNITY

Joel serves on the Jewish United Fund's Professional Advisory Committee and the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association's Board of Directors. He also volunteers time with a number of charitable organizations.
