Howard M. Denenberg is an experienced tax and business lawyer whose practice includes tax planning and transactional work for corporations and their shareholders. As a tax lawyer, Howard employs sophisticated and innovative estate and tax planning techniques to reduce clients' income taxes and transfer taxes.
Howard has counseled a number of prominent law firms and their partners in connection with tax and estate planning, as well as issues surrounding firm structure, partner relationships and firm transactional matters. He also has experience in representing actors and producers in tax planning and negotiating movie and television deals.
IN THE PROFESSION
Howard lectures frequently on federal tax and estate planning matters before a variety of business and professional groups, including conferences sponsored by the Illinois CPA Society.
Howard has prepared a number of articles for professional journals, including the Journal of Taxation, Taxation for Lawyers, and Taxation for Accountants. He is also the author of the book Litigator's Tax Guide, published by Wiley Law Publications-John Wiley & Sons.
Howard has been designated an Illinois Super Lawyer (2005-2008), an honor given to the top 5% of attorneys in the state. He has also been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network as a top Illinois lawyer in the area of business tax law (2006-2008).
IN THE COMMUNITY
Howard is a member of the board of directors and President of Children's Oncology Services, Inc. For many years, he also has been a counselor and program leader for One Step at a Time, a summer camp for children with cancer.
