Glenn D. Taxman heads Much Shelist's Orange County, California office.
In his real estate practice, Glenn's clients include owners, purchasers, landlords, tenants, investors and developers in the acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing and development of commercial/retail, industrial and residential property. His focus includes the acquisition, disposition and financing of strip shopping centers and single-tenant, net-leased properties located throughout the United States.
Since 1996, Glenn has closed real estate deals with a total value of more than $1 billion. In his secured lending practice, Glenn represents both lenders and borrowers in the structuring, negotiating and funding of commercial loan transactions (including conduits and senior and mezzanine debt). He has additional corporate experience in representing companies with loan workouts and restructurings.
Glenn was part of a recent $52.3 million mixed-use transaction that gained national prominence. In this deal, Glenn represented two separate clients in the sale of an industrial building and strip shopping center as part of forward and reverse 1031 tax-deferred exchanges for tenancy-in-common interests. This deal was reported to be the largest in the United States ever syndicated through the investment of unrelated multiple 1031 like-kind trade candidates.
In 2004 and 2005, Glenn represented the buyer/landlord in three separate sale lease-back transactions involving an aggregate of 30 single-tenant, net-leased fast food restaurants located across the United States.
IN THE PROFESSION
Glenn is a member of the American, Illinois State, Chicago, California and Orange County Bar Associations. In 2003, he was named to Real Estate Chicago's "40 Real Estate Professionals Under 40 To Watch." Glenn was also designated an Illinois Rising Star in 2008.
IN THE COMMUNITY
Glenn is involved with the sponsorship committee for the Special Kids Network's annual golf fundraising event. Special Kids Network is a charitable organization that provides financial aid to Keshet School — a unique school that provides an outstanding curriculum for children with special needs who simply cannot attend mainstream schools.
