Edward D. Shapiro to Board of Directors

CHICAGO, Illinois – May 19, 2006 – Edward D. Shapiro, a principal in the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group, was installed last night as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR). Other board members include former judge Gino DiVito, current judges Willie Wright and Alan Goldberg, and a number of other well-respected professionals who devote a significant portion of their legal practice to efficient dispute resolution.

In his litigation and counseling practice, Ed focuses on the efficient prevention, management and resolution of disputes for commercial entities, organizations and individuals. Ed also advises and represents clients in state and federal court, before administrative agencies, and in mediation and arbitration in a full range of business matters, including contracts, business torts, restrictive covenants, unfair competition, trade secrets, employment, professional licensing, business dissolution, trusts and estates, real estate, product liability and bankruptcy-related matters. Trained as a litigator, he applies an ethical and responsible approach to conflict resolution.

Ed volunteers as a mediator at the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR), where he assists in training new mediators and serves as a member of its Board of Directors and Peer Review Committee. He is also a past Chair of the Chicago Bar Association ADR Section, and is a Fellow of the Illinois Institute of Collaborative Law.
