Much Shelist Attorneys to Attend ICSC Spring Convention

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) will hold its annual Spring Convention May 20-23 in Las Vegas. As one of the world’s most important international commercial real estate events, the ICSC convention draws more than 45,000 attendees from all segments of the real estate industry for networking, deal making and education. A group of eight Much Shelist attorneys will attend this year’s convention. We look forward to seeing our clients and friends in Las Vegas.

Upcoming MS-LABS: "The Greening of America's Real Estate"

Much Shelist attorneys James D. Weier and Wendy M. Reutebuch—along with guest presenters Marta Gazda-Auskalnis (architect with Schroeder Murchie Niemiec Gazda-Auskalnis Architects) and Mike Zitelman (project engineer with Pepper Construction Company)—will conduct a 90-minute seminar on issues relating to the greening of America's real estate. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on June 11 at the W Chicago City Center Hotel, the presentation will be of particular interest to anyone who is involved in the real estate industry.

Offered as a value-added service to clients and friends of the firm, MS-LABS (Much Shelist Legal and Business Seminars) is a complimentary seminar series that provides useful information on legal and business matters related to owning and operating a business. The Business and Legal Quarterly Goes Green

As part of our ongoing effort to institute “green” business practices across the firm, Much More: The Business and Legal Quarterly is now printed on recycled paper. Certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, the paper we have chosen is made from 100% post-consumer fiber and is process chlorine free (PCF), meaning it has not been treated with chlorine gas, chlorine dioxide or any other bleaching agent that contains a chlorine compound. Additionally, Much Shelist distributes The Business and Legal Quarterly electronically to approximately 86% of our recipients.

Nightingale's Healthcare News Names Neal T. Goldstein to
"Outstanding Physician Practice Lawyers" List

For the second year in a row, Neal T. Goldstein, a principal in the Business & Finance practice group and head of the firm's health care practice, was named one of the country's “Outstanding Physician Practice Lawyers” by Nightingale's Healthcare News. Published annually in March, the 2007 list includes just 10 attorneys nationwide. Neal is the only honoree from Chicago.

Nightingale's Healthcare News is a monthly newsletter for professionals serving the health care industry, as well as health care executives and others interested in this dynamic and complex field.

Joel E. Resnick  (Of Counsel, Real Estate) brings more than 25 years of experience to clients engaged in all phases of commercial real estate transactions, locally and nationally. Drawing on his skills as a strategic negotiator and business counselor, Joel helps clients negotiate and close purchase, sale and financing agreements for retail, office, mixed-use, industrial and residential properties.

Joseph A. Spiegler (Principal, Litigation & Dispute Resolution) is an experienced litigator with a focus on complex commercial litigation, white-collar criminal matters and corporate internal investigations. Joe has represented Fortune 500 corporations, publicly traded and privately held companies, partnerships and individuals in a range of civil and criminal matters, including antitrust, class action, fraud, breach of contract, RICO, intellectual property, libel and media-related cases.

Andrea E. Forsyth (Associate, Litigation & Dispute Resolution) represents clients in a range of commercial disputes in state and federal courts, including in tort, labor, employment and corporate matters, as well as in criminal investigations and law enforcement proceedings. Andrea also represents clients in arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Tzivia A. Masliansky (Associate, Litigation & Dispute Resolution) represents clients in a broad range of commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration proceedings.

Christopher J. Petelle (Associate, Litigation & Dispute Resolution) represents clients in a broad range of commercial disputes and criminal investigations in both state and federal courts. Chris has particular experience with appellate criminal litigation and complex federal whistleblower litigation.

Chad J. Van Den Top (Associate, Business & Finance) counsels clients on the tax-related effects of major transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other deals involving U.S. and foreign companies. He also provides guidance on the tax consequences of corporate restructurings and reorganizations involving both solvent and distressed businesses, asset and stock sales, liquidations of tangible and intangible assets, forgiveness of intercompany debt and terminations of partnerships.
